Students will be able to describe the general characteristics of important objects in the universe and in our solar system. Students will be able to describe important events in the exploration of space (including the status of the space shuttle program) as well as the strategies and techniques that will take humans to the planets. Students will identify and use in lessons and unit preparation attention getters, discovery activities, and demonstrations on the general topic of "The Cosmos."
