Here is a comprehensive list of Supplementary Materials that accompany the Development Through the Lifespan, 4e textbook.

INSTRUCTOR SUPPLEMENTS A variety of teaching tools are available to assist instructors in organizing lectures, planning demonstrations and examinations, and ensuring student comprehension.

Instructor’s Resource Manual (IRM) . This thoroughly revised IRM contains additional material to enrich your class presentations. For each chapter, the IRM provides a Chapter-at-a-Glance grid, Brief Chapter Summary, detailed Lecture Outline, Lecture Enhancements, Learning Activities, Ask Yourself questions with answers, Suggested Student Readings, Transparencies listing, and Media Materials. The Media Materials include descriptions that connect the Observation and Windows videos to chapter content, and detailed descriptions of other media materials relevant to the chapter.

Test Bank. The test bank contains over 2,000 multiple-choice questions, each of which is page-referenced to chapter content and classified by type (factual, applied, or conceptual). Each chapter also includes a selection of essay questions and sample answers.

Computerized Test Bank. This computerized version of the test bank, in easy-to-use software, lets you prepare tests for printing as well as for network and online testing. It has full editing capability. Test items are also available in CourseCompass, Blackboard, and WebCT formats.

Transparencies. Updated for this edition, over two hundred full-color transparencies taken from the text and other sources are referenced in the Instructor’s Resource Manual for the most appropriate use in your classroom presentations.

Child Development in Action Observation Video Program. This revised and expanded real-life videotape is over two hours in length and contains hundreds of observation segments that illustrate theories, concepts, and milestones of child development. New additions include attachment, early development of compliance and self-control, understanding of false belief, moral reasoning in middle childhood, adolescent dating, and emerging adulthood. The videotape and Observation Guide are free to instructors who adopt the text and are available to students at a discount when packaged with the text.

A Window on Child Development Running Observational Footage Video. This video complements the Observation Program described above through two hours of unscripted footage on many aspects of child development. A revised Video Guide is also available. The videotape and the viewing guide are free to instructors who adopt the text.

PowerPoint CD-ROM. A PowerPoint™ CD-ROM contains outlines of key points and illustrations from each chapter.

Digital Media Archive. This collection of media products—including charts, graphs, tables, figures, audio, and video clips—assists you in meeting your classroom goals.

MyDevelopmentLab. This interactive and instructive multimedia resource can be used as a supplement to a classroom course or to completely administer an online course. Prepared in collaboration with Laura Berk, this product makes use of extensive video footage, multimedia simulations, biographies of major figures in the field, and interactive activities that are unique to this textbook. In addition to the features just mentioned, MyDevelopmentLab includes a variety of controlled assessments that enable contin-uous evaluation of students’ learning. Emerging Adulthood Booklet. This mini-chapter details the most current theory and research on this new period of development, which intervenes between adolescence and full assumption of adult roles. It is also available as an appendix to the text on MyDevelopment Lab.

This booklet includes historic and contemporary biographies that personalize major advances in theory and research, thereby expanding students’ appreciation of both the traditions and current status of the field. Adapted from the popular Milestones Tables featured in the text, these colorfully illustrated study cards outline key developmental attainments in an easy-to-use, chronological organization that assists students in integrating the various domains of development and constructing a vision of the whole child.
