3. Compare and contrast the principles of cognitive strategy instruction including the key features of strategy steps, modeling, self-regulation, verbalization, and reflective thinking and their implications for teaching.
4. Describe the principles of a sociocultural theory of cognitive development including the scaffolded instruction and the social nature of learning and interactive dialogue and their implications for teaching.
5. Explain the information processing theory including the processes of sensing, attention, perception, short-term or working memory, long-term memory and schemas, and executive functioning and metacognition and their implications for teaching.
