Research design specifies the plan or strategy which will be used to provide an answer to the research question. The purpose of developing this strategy is to provide for control of extraneous confounding variables, to identify the conclusions that can be drawn from the results obtained, and to identify how the data will be collected and how this data will be analyzed.
