What are the advantages and disadvantages of a factorial design?
|
The advantages include being able to investigate the effect of more than one independent variable in a single experiment and the effect of the interaction between these variables, being able to control for the effect of an extraneous variable by building it into the design of the experiment, and having greater precision in the experiment. The disadvantages of a factorial design are that more research participants are required and as the number of independent variables increases the difficulty of conducting and interpreting the results increases.
