IMPACT OF THE TERRORIST ATTACKS ON THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM
The catastrophic and deadly acts of international terrorism perpetrated against the United States on September 11, 2001 and the subsequent biological terrorist acts have changed our way of life and affected all aspects of our society, including the criminal justice system.
To help students and instructors understand the impact of the attacks on the criminal justice system, Allyn and Bacon has created this web site organized by questions relating to main topics in the study of criminal justice. Resources for investigating the questions include commentary by Allyn and Bacon authors, web links to useful and reliable information sources, and opportunities for students to write their own responses to the questions.
Special thanks go to the following authors who offered their opinions and views based on their knowledge as professors in the field of criminal justice: Jay S. Albanese, Virginia Commonwealth University; Steven E. Barkan, University of Maine; Clemens Bartollas, University of Northern Iowa; Marjie T. Britz, The Citadel; George J. Bryjak, University of San Diego; Joseph Allan Cobb, Special Prosecutor, Jefferson County, Louisville; John E. Conklin, Tufts University; James A.
