Dr. Virginia Gonzalez
Dr. Gonzalez is an Associate Professor at the Division of Teacher Education, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)/Literacy Programs, College of Education, University of Cincinnati. Her major area of expertise is the development of innovative models and educational applications for the assessment and instruction of ESL children and adults.
Dr. Thomas D. Yawkey
Dr. Yawkey is Professor of Education at The Pennsylvania State University, Director of Title III Project ADELANTE PSU ESL Graduate Courses for In-service Graduate Level ESL Training and Staff Development and former Director, Title VII Project P.I.A.G.E.T. Academic Excellence. Receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois,Champaign-Urbana, Dr. Yawkey has taught in public and private schools and at the University of Maryland, College Park and the University of Wisconsin, Madison in-service ESL, bilingual and migrant teachers and for ESL culturally and linguistically diverse students in school districts and social service agencies in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Maryland, Alabama and other states. He is the author and co-author of many books and articles on parenting, ESL, bilingual and young children. Dr. Yawkey is currently involved with Distance Education course development for Penn State's World Campus based Family Literacy Certificate Program.
