Chapter 14 Goals
This chapter is designed to:
1. Describe how the systemic worldview undergirds family therapy approaches.
2. Outline the central constructs of family theory and how these principles operate in a specific examples of family functioning and life-span events.
3. Apply postmodern, integrative, multicultural, and feminist perspectives in providing counseling and psychotherapy to families.
4. Evaluate the basics of four family therapy models.
5. Identify the underlying conceptual connections between individual counseling, family therapy, and the network therapy model.
6. Explore how principles of family therapy can be applied to solving community problems.
