After completing the study of Chapter 2, students should be able to:

  1. Classify research into two types based on practicality;
  2. Classify research into four types based on research methodology employed;
  3. Classify research into eight types based on the type of research question addressed; and
  4. Distinguish between and classify the various types of variables present in research studies.
