After completing the study of Chapter 13, students should be able to:

  3. Name and describe typical research designs used in experimental research;
  4. Name and describe typical research designs used in quasi-experimental research;
  5. Identify and describe the main threats to internal and external validity in experimental and quasi-experimental research studies;
  6. Compare and contrast experimental and causal-comparative research;
  7. Identify the principal sources of data in experimental and quasi-experimental research; and
  8. Identify the most commonly used data analysis techniques used in experimental and quasi-experimental research.
