This activity contains 2 questions.
You have been assigned to teach second grade. You are fully aware of the research findings on the effectiveness of family and community involvement and student achievement. You decide to:
Create a plan of action to make sure families are valued in your classroom and begin implementing it before school starts.
To leave the family involvement to the PTA and administrators.
Write a letter to families welcoming them to your classroom and school.
You work in an impoverished school district. Your classroom does not have doors, three of your walls are permanently stained from years of use. What can you do with your environment to make it more inviting for your students?
