Chapter Goal and Objectives

Goal: Grasp theory and practice in developing partnerships with families in the education of students with special needs.

Objectives:

1. Develop increased sensitivity to the challenges of families and strategies for working effectively with families of children with special needs.
2. Utilize strategies for communication, collaborative problem-solving, and supporting families. 3. Understand system, child, and family-centered approaches to services.
4. Identify methods to connect with community resources that support families and teaching.
