Internet Explorations


The internet provides a valuable source to explore issues related to segregation and inclusion, people with disabilities in school and society, and inclusive teaching. Following are some Internet Explorations in which you might be interested.


1. Many people disagree regarding how to best teach students with special needs described in Chapter 5. Use the sites in InclusiveNet Chapter 7 and your own searches to identify some areas of disagreement for at least one of the groups discussed in this chapter.

2. How do the Four Building Blocks of Inclusive Teaching discussed in Chapter 6 relate to best practices in teaching students who are considered gifted, second language learners or have learning disabilities, mental retardation or traumatic brain injury? Use the sites in InclusiveNet Chapter 7 to explore this question.

3. Use the sites in InclusiveNet Chapter 7 to develop a guide of key resources. Which sites seem the most useful? Why?
