Objectives

  • Students will gain understanding about some major views of human development.

  • Students will compare and contrast the developmental theories of Piaget, Vygotsky, and theories of information-processing theorists.

  • Students will analyze the developmental theories of Piaget and Vygotsky, and how they relate to teaching.

  • Students will gain knowledge of Erikson's theory of psychosocial development, and apply this knowledge to the study of cognitive development.

  • Students will examine and analyze theories of moral development put forward by Piaget and Kohlberg.

  • Students will compare, contrast, and evaluate the theories of moral development put forward by Piaget and Kohlberg.
