Sabrina is in her third year as a sixth grade teacher in a district that uses a lot of standardized tests to evaluate student progress and to provide public accountability for the district's programs. Last year, Sabrina decided to investigate the issue of standardized tests and their use as evaluative and planning tools. Sabrina's friend Jose said, " The problem with standardized tests and the fixed curricula they engender is their tendency to kill off the kind of education that matters most."
