  • Department of the Treasury
This is the homepage of the bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, which is responsible, for example, for collecting tobacco taxes and ensuring compliance with tax statutes. Also accessible are statistics on arson and information on explosives.

Click on Firearms; then click on Youth Crime; there, you will find a description of the Youth Crime Gun Interdiction Initiative. Do you think that this plan will be effective in preventing future tragedies like those in Littleton, Colorado and in Jonesboro, Arkansas?

  • National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information
This homepage offers access to vast resources on what's new, multimedia channel, research, searchable databases, campaign information, and alcohol & drug facts.

  • American Civil Liberties Union

  • Corrections: World Wide Web Sites
Click on publications and scroll down to CT Magazine. Take a look at a couple of the abstracts of articles that have appeared recently in this publication. Most of America would rather forget that there are prisons and correctional officers. Regardless of whether you plan to seek a career in law enforcement, imagine that you are a correctional officer: What kinds of issues would you like to read about in your national organization's magazine?

This is the homepage of PAX. Links to an action arena, student center, about PAX, relevant laws, studies and reports, and suggestions for what individuals can do ("contact congress, sign the youth petition")
