From this site, click on "Research" and then click on “New Federalism”. This will provide access to the National Survey of American Families, which provides fascinating data on the status of American families today. After exploring the survey, you may wish to return to this site when the topic of family is covered in your social problems course.

    This is a thesaurus of over 5,000 authorized terms concerning social problems for you to use when searching subjects in the online Library of Congress.

    Choose one of the authorized terms concerning social problems and plug it into the online Library of Congress. Here is a suggestion: Click on Crimes Without Victims. By doing so, you will access a screen that will allow you to choose a "narrower" term, such as drug abuse. You may wish to conduct a similar search with other topics of interest.
