Scientists in a laboratory removed the front right leg of a frog, leaned over it, and yelled “jump.” It jumped. They removed the left front leg of the frog and again yelled “jump.” It jumped, albeit awkwardly. They removed the right rear leg of the frog and yelled “jump.” The frog struggled, but managed to lurch forward. Finally, they removed the left rear leg, leaned across, and yelled “jump.” Alas, the frog remained motionless. They conferred and wrote their conclusion: Removing the four legs of a frog will cause it to grow deaf.
