We often think that research requires "objectivity." In the sciences, the experimental method attempts to reduce the influence of the experimenter on the results. That's not possible, of course, with an ethnography. Does that make the information and the conclusions less reliable? Less useful? Can any researcher, even a scientific one, be purely "objective"?
