Part 4 provides eight rules for good writing in order to show you how to write clear, straightforward prose. The information is intended to help you:

  1. select a topic;
  2. research for facts;
  3. limit, or narrow, a topic to manageable size;
  4. organize research material;
  5. make the writing interesting;
  6. make the writing emphatic;
  7. avoid language that draws attention to itself; and
  8. avoid mechanical errors.
