This activity contains 3 questions.
There are a number of striking points packed into this very brief argumentabout both slavery and womens rights. Analyze each of the assertions Sojourner Truth makes, whether explicit or implied, and how she supports each assertion.

Read Arent I a Woman? along with Elizabeth Cady Stantons Declaration of Sentiments and Resolutions (page 686). Although the two speeches are very different, consider in particular what they have in common. Then think about how the two women go about achieving their point.
