In the following paragraph, determine if quotation marks are used correctly in the numbered sentences.

If you are traveling abroad, you should become familiar with the way that different cultures interpret nonverbal communication. (1)According to one expert, "Gestures such as the thumbs-up for 'good job' and the 'V' for victory may have negative interpretations in some cultures." (2) For example, he says, "When President Nixon visited Latin America and made the "OK" gesture, he thought it communicated something positive; however, the gesture has a far more negative meaning in Latin America." (3)In addition, he warns, "In the United States, you wave your whole hand from side to side to say 'Hello,' but in much of Europe, that same signal means 'No.'"
