A Letter to Contributors from the Magazine’s Editors

Dear Contributor:

We’re so pleased that you’re considering contributing your work to College Review. Our mission is to publish the finest undergraduate essays in the humanities and social sciences.

Essays and Reviews:

We generally publish two kinds of essays in College Review:

Format:

  • Be typed
  • Be in 12-point Times New Roman font
  • Be double-spaced
  • Be printed only on one side of each page
  • Be titled
  • Have numbered pages
  • Be accompanied by an abstract of 250 words or less
  • Submissions should adhere to citation formats appropriate to their respective fields (e.g., APA Publication Manual, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.). All reviews should adhere to MLA citation format.

    Eligibility:

Only manuscripts written while the author is enrolled as an undergraduate at an accredited institution in the United States or Canada will be considered. Upon graduation, authors have one year to submit manuscripts.

    Our Readers:

Our audience is highly intelligent, curious, and well read. They appreciate essays and reviews that are interesting, well written, and free of jargon.
