Requesting Funds for a Student Organization: An Application Letter |

We, the members of the Future Medical Professionals Society, voted unanimously at our last meeting to invite Dr. Donald Raimes to speak as our guest at Larchmont University. Dr. Raimes is a perfect speaker for our group to sponsor. The Future Medical Professionals Society exists to promote medicine and health care as career options for students at Larchmont University. Our charter with the University states that we “provide students with information on careers in healthcare, advice on course selection, internship opportunities, and contacts with professionals from all areas of health care.” Dr. Raimes’ status as a leader in the field of weight loss surgery, and his experience in the realm of public policy associated with weight loss and health care, will make an impressive statement about our group’s involvement with current issues in medicine.
To this end, we direct the Society’s Vice President to prepare a letter of application for funding, directed to the Office of Student Affairs Professional Speakers Fund, requesting additional money to help fund Dr. Raimes’ visit.
Treasurer's Report

As requested at the last meeting, I have prepared the following report on treasury funds:
Funds available at beginning of this year: $1300
Dues collected: $375
Funds committed to sponsoring table at Spring Wellness Fair: $150
Total funds currently available: $1525
I have found an airfare online for Dr. Raimes that would fit his schedule; it will cost $423.
I have also talked to an advertising representative at the Larchmont Student News, who says we can run a half-page ad the day before the talk for $98.00.
