Visit Big Bend! A Persuasive Brochure |
|
Following is a letter from Gus Lipscomb, the president of the Big Bend Area Chamber of Commerce, inviting seniors to the region.
Dear Members of the United States Association of Retirees:
As both a lifetime resident of the Big Bend region and a member of the USAR, I invite you to visit us and enjoy one of the most beautiful places in the old U. S. of A.!
What makes our region special? Well, theres Big Bend National Park, of course, which is one of the prettiest national parks around. But there are also many lesser-known attractions that give our region its unique flavor. Our townsAlpine, Marathon, Marfa, Study Butte, Terlingua, and Lajitasstill retain the charm of the Old West, while providing the conveniences of the modern day. The McDonald Observatory (which offers guided tours) is one of the most famous observatories in the world. And then theres the landscape. Even outside the national park, our region is amazingly beautiful. From the cool, wooded Davis Mountains to the rugged Chihuahuan Desert, the Big Bend region has it all.
If you are planning to visit the area, the Big Bend Area Chamber of Commerce can provide you with all the information you need to plan your itinerary. Give us a call or visit our Web site. Were waiting to serve you!
Come discover the magic of the Big Bend for yourself!
Gus Lipscomb
President, Big Bend Area Chamber of CommerceP.S. When you call, make sure you ask about the Silver Savers Program, which will earn you discounts at many of the regions attractions, hotels, and restaurants.
