23. Capitalizing with colons, parentheses, and quotations |

In the following questions decide whether the word should or should not be capitalized.
The way in which birds see is complex. For example, the owl has both eyes facing forward in a relatively flat face ( __1__ (Resulting/resulting) in a wide range of forward vision). In contrast, songbirds are engineered to avoid predators: __2__ (A/a) songbird's eyes are set more to the sides of the head. A third system is found in the woodcock, which can see in a complete circle without moving its head. ( __3__ (The/the) woodcock's eyes are set far to the rear.)
