Paragraph Practice 3

In each of the following questions determine whether a comma is needed.

I have read differing opinions about whether poinsettia plants are toxic to pets. Some people say that they __1__ (are, but/are but) others say that they're not. Just to be on the safe side, I put my plant out where I can see __2__ (it, but/it but) on a shelf that the cat can't reach. Next year I may just buy a plastic __3__ (poinsettia, and/poinsettia and) eliminate all worry.
