  • A Note about Documenting Sources:

    There are four major styles used for formatting papers and citing sources. Different disciplines tend to favor different styles. Be aware of which style is preferred in the field you are working in.

    MLA (Modern Language Association, used in Literature, Composition, and Foreign Languages)-Chapter 21

    APA (American Psychological Association, used in Psychology and Social Sciences)-Chapter 23

    CMS (Chicago Manual of Style, used in Business, Fine Arts, History, and the Humanities)-Chapter 24

    CSE (Council of Science Editors, used in Biology and Natural Sciences)-Chapter 25
