The moment the words were out of my mouth, I wished I could take them back. I didn't mean to hurt Ted's feelings. He is such a nice person, and he certainly doesn't deserve to be treated so poorly. I guess the stress from my job has been more than I can handle. Instead of taking my problems out on him, I need to deal directly with the people who create the stress. If only I didn't care so much what people thought of me at work, then maybe it would be easier to confront them. This much I know, however: I don't ever want to hurt Ted like that again.

Question 7.
Within the question text below, there is one text entry field where you can enter your answer.

Students who cheat are losers who cause more damage than they know. First of all, cheaters hurt others. Cheaters can end up with higher grade point averages, which makes them unfairly eligible for recommendations, awards, and scholarships that they don't deserve. By cheating, they rob hardworking students of their fair chance. Second, cheaters hurt the schools from which they graduate. They carry their lack of real skills with them into the job force. Their ineptness reflects poorly on the college or university that trained them. Finally, cheaters cheat themselves. They lose out on attaining real skills and knowledge that will serve them the rest of their lives. So while cheaters may think they are really smart and beating the system, they are the real losers.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was one of those rare men who fulfilled his destiny. There can be little doubt that he lived a life based on the principles of courage and sacrifice. There can be no argument that his courage and sacrifice have instilled those principles in others. He was a man who would not allow the limited views of the small-minded to define his world or direct his steps. He was a man who faced death unflinchingly so that others could live lives of which he could only dream. King was indeed a king among men.

Many people who begin exercise programs do so without proper preparation. This lack of preparation can lead to serious injuries. A few simple steps can help avoid these unnecessary injuries. Before the workout, stretch. Taking a few minutes to stretch warms up the muscles and prevents strains and tears. During the workout, drink plenty of water. A good workout causes a loss of body fluids through sweating. Staying hydrated ensures that muscles can perform properly. After the workout, stretch again. Stretching after the workout reduces muscle tension and improves circulation. In addition, stretching an already warmed-up muscle encourages greater range in mobility and flexibility.

Makinsey's breath caught short in her throat at the sound of the twig's snap. She could hear something panting in the bushes nearby, but the night beyond the campfire was too black to see anything. The hair on the back of her neck stood on end, and a network of needlelike pricks spread across her skin. She tried to shout "Mother," but no sound came out. The panting seemed to come closer. She whirled the trunk of her body around first to the left and then to the right as her eyes frantically searched the darkness. Nothing! I need a weapon, she thought. From the woodpile by her side, she chose a log that was as thick as her arm and felt balanced in her hand. She placed one end in the fire until it blazed to life. With the torch in hand, she turned to face the panting that was now much louder and much closer.
