Susan Pongratz graduated from The College of William and Mary with a B.A in English and M.A in Education. In addition to teaching developmental reading classes at Thomas Nelson Community College and co-coordinating the Verizon Reading Center there, she supervised student teachers for several years at Christopher Newport University. Since completing the Eastern Virginia Writing Project in 2002, she now serves as a teaching consultant, strongly espousing the philosophy of the reading/writing connection.
