6.      REM sleep and NREM sleep are quite different. REM is short for rapid eye movement. During REM sleep, the eyes, body, and brain are active. It is during REM sleep that we dream. In contrast, NREM (non-rapid eye movement) sleep is a time when the eyes, body, and brain are less active. It is during NREM that we sleep deeply. Most of us move back and forth between REM sleep and NREM sleep over the course of any given night.

      7.      Advances in health care and living conditions across the world have led to an increase in the world's population. Improved medical care and diets have also resulted in a longer life for many people. Consequently, today, there are over six billion people in the world, and many may live to be 100 years old.

      8.      Wellness is the ongoing act of choosing views and behaviors that lead to overall health. Wellness deals with the whole person and takes into account a person's spirit, intellect, body, and feelings, as well as his or her social life. For example, a person working toward spiritual wellness may ask, "Do I put my beliefs into action?" or "Do I forgive others? Do I forgive myself?"

      9.      A good credit rating results from following a few simple rules. Apply for and use a single credit card in order to obtain good credit. Keeping track of what you charge and keeping up with the payments will cause lenders to believe that you are responsible. Another rule is that paying your credit card bill off each month will lead to good credit. The zero balance that results tells lenders that you know how to manage your money.

      10.      Reading a book is always much better than watching a movie based on a book. Despite the saying "A picture is worth a thousand words," a book is able to give much more information than a movie can give. The author can give the thoughts of the characters; in contrast, a movie usually conveys only the actions and words of the characters. A book can follow several characters and plot lines, but a movie usually has less than two hours to tell the story and must follow just a few characters or one plot line. The final difference is one of imagination. Each reader of a book can create a different mental picture of the characters and scenes. A movie, however, can offer only the vision of the director and actors.
