| 1. To switch from NORMAL view to OUTLINE mode, go to the VIEW menu and
click on OUTLINE. |

| 2. Once youve clicked on OUTLINE, your screen will reconfigure the
toolbars and layout. Paragraph formatting doesn't appear. Also, the ruler
and the paragraph formatting commands are not available. (You can apply
styles, although you might not be able to see all the style formatting.)
To view or modify paragraph formatting, switch to another view. |

| 3. Type in each heading and press ENTER. Word formats the headings with
the built-in heading style Heading 1. |

| 4. If you decide you want to change the order of your headings, and move
an upper heading to a lower level, or in other words, demote a heading,
highlight the heading and press the DOWN ARROW on the toolbar. The graphic
below illustrates moving "Benefits of the Requirement" down. |

| 5. Likewise, if you decide you want to change the order of your headings,
and move a lower heading to a higher level, or in other words, promote a
heading, highlight the heading and press the UP ARROW on the toolbar. The
graphic below illustrates moving "Universities that have a Service Learning
Requirement" and "Examples of Service Learning Courses" up. |

| 6. When you're satisfied with the organization, from the VIEW menu switch
back to NORMAL view. |

| 7. Once youre in NORMAL view you can add detailed body text. Make
sure you SAVE your document before closing it. |
