4.7 (p.75) Three ways to collaborate using computers.

If your teacher or lab supervisor has designated a common location of a local area network for your class, you can use it to share work with your classmates (step 1). Other easy ways to collaborate include using Web pages and email.

1. Post your work to the common drive by using the SAVE AS function in your word-processing program. (Be sure to save to your classes’ designated folder.)

a. Read and comment on the work that has been posted by your classmates (use all capital letters or your word processor’s commenting feature). Below is an example.

b. On a PC, use SAVE AS to save your classmates’ work plus your comments in a new document under a new title.

2. If possible, post your work to a class Web site for others to read and review.

3. Use email to send your work to a peer. You can annotate your peer’s work and then send your comments as an attachment, as in the example below.
