Help: How do I check for overuse of specific words or terms?

1. Make a list of words that you suspect you may have overused.

2. Use the SEARCH function of your word-processing program to find each instance of each word in your document.

3. Use the THESAURUS function to help you think of an alternative wording. To use the thesaurus, place your cursor on the word you want to look up. Then go to TOOLS on the menu bar, select "Language" and then select "Thesaurus."

4. A text box will appear with several words to choose from. Be sure you are familiar with the word you decide to use from the thesaurus so that you use it appropriately for the context.
