HELP: How do I use the computer to become a more effective proofreader?

1. When proofreading on screen, use the cursor arrow to scroll down one line at a time, forcing yourself to read each line slowly before reading the next one.

2. Use the VIEW menu to see the text one full page at a time by selecting the FULL PAGE option.

3. View the text two pages at a time, displayed side by side on the monitor.

4. Move the cursor to the end of the text, and read the sentences in reverse order.

5. Read the text aloud from the screen, slowing down as necessary to attend to the text more closely.

6. If you have a text-reading program, instruct the computer to do the reading aloud and listen for errors.
