8.4 (p.177) Mastering Internet search techniques.

Now that you're embarking on your research project, it's a good idea to learn Internet search techniques. Pearson Education’s Research Navigator site has both open and restricted areas (which may be accessed if your instructor has ordered Research Navigator with your text). The open areas, located at a pull-down menu, include Start Writing, Internet Research, and Citing Sources. Topics available under Internet Research include:

  • Overview of Using the Internet for Research Purposes
  • Tips for Searching Efficiently, Both Online and in the Library
  • Evaluating Internet Sources
  • Which Search Engine is Right for Me?
  • How Can I Save Time, and Find Better Sources?

Each of these topics includes links to other resources on the Internet. Together, they provide extensive information on conducting research via the Internet and the World Wide Web.
