There are research sites that are devoted entirely to searching popular sources, such as magazines and newspapers. Some are listed below.

The Excite Newstracker, shown below, is a clearly organized site that prioritizes the day’s top news. You can also read through the top news in sports, entertainment, politics, as well as national and international stories.

News and Newspapers online is provided by the Walter Clinton Jackson Library at University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This site offers news from around the world and is organized geographically. You can read about news in the “USA and Canada,” or scroll down to the “Latin America,” “Europe,” or “Asia, Oceania, and Antarctic” headings to find out what is happening globally.

The Global Gateway also allows readers to find news from around the world, but it also provides links to critical issues, such as the environment, conflict in Africa, and development. There is also a link to a project on human rights that is funded by Inter Press Service Global News Agency and the European Commission. The entire site is also available in Spanish.
