9.4 (p.212) Step-by-step instructions on using the HISTORY feature of a browser.

Your Internet browser has a feature that allows you to retrace the Web sites that you have visited over a specific length of time.

1. Checking your history in Netscape.

a. The HISTORY feature is found within the Communicator menu by clicking on "TOOLS" and then "HISTORY."

b. Here you will find a listing of all the sites you have visited, plus an indication of how long ago they were visited (e.g. 3 hours, 6 days, etc.).

c. Use the History feature to retrace a prior search. You can customize the length of time your history is operating via the Edit > Preferences menu.

2. Checking your history in Explorer.

a. You can check the HISTORY of your search by clicking on the history button found on the toolbar.

b. Explorer will display a searchable history menu on the left side of your browser window.

c. The History feature can be customized using INTERNET OPTIONS in the TOOLS menu from the menu bar.
