Citing an online periodical (p. 356)

Many magazines, newspapers and scholarly publications are now available in online formats. Generally, citations for online periodicals follow the same sequence as citations for print periodicals. They should include the following:

  1. The author's name (if provided)
  2. The title of the work, in quotation marks
  3. The name of the journal, magazine, or newspaper, underlined
  4. The volume and issue number (or other identifying number if provided)
  5. The date of publication
  6. The range or total number of pages, paragraphs, or sections, if they are numbered
  7. The date of access and URL in angle brackets
