Occasionally the ethical climate deteriorates to the point that someone from the inside feels compelled to blow the whistle. In the last few years, we've seen whistleblowers in the energy industry, the communications industry, the tobacco industry, and even the FBI. As these folks can attest, blowing the whistle can result in serious retaliation, but sometimes it is the only way to reveal ethical abuses.
