Summary

For many, the post-World War II world was even less secure. US policy-makers moved quickly to protect American economic preeminence while working to confront the perceived Soviet threat. The Cold War would dominate American foreign policy and impact American culture for the next forty-five years. It proved to be the catalyst for American interventions around the globe.
