Every student of technical communication should read and analyze this memo, BEFORE turning to Steve Katz's excellent article in College English. Steven B. Katz, "The Ethic of Expediency," College English, March 1992, 255.

For this case study, you will practice the skill of explication. After you have read the memo, go and look up the Steven B. Katz article in College English. Then return to the memo. Write an Explication Article that goes through the original memo LINE BY LINE and paraphrases and explains what it means in language the average reader would understand.
