Lab Activity 42: Pronoun Agreement, Pronoun Reference, and Point of View
 
ObjectiveTo practice correctly recognizing and using pronoun agreement, pronoun reference, and pronoun point of view.

Step 1: In each item below, write a sentence as instructed. After you finish, check to make sure you are using the correct pronouns. You may refer to Chapter 42.

Example:
Write a sentence using the antecedent rain and a pronoun.
(The antecedent is the word a pronoun refers to.)
The rain just stopped, but it left puddles everywhere.
Example:
Write a sentence using the antecedent people and a pronoun.
The people in the audience felt they were cheated.

      Step 3: For each sentence below, select the choice that uses pronouns correctly. If the original sentence is correct, select "No change."

1. My friend Ross and I recently had an opportunity to see a hypnosis act for ourself. [Hint]



      2. Ross and I went to a hypnosis demonstration at ours neighborhood community center. [Hint]



      3. We knew that somebody in the crowd would be asked to volunteer, and they would be hypnotized in front of all of us. [Hint]
