ObjectiveTo practice recognizing and using adjectives and adverbs.

Step 1: In each item below, write a sentence as instructed, underlining the required elements. You may refer to Chapter 43.

Example:
Write a sentence using one adjective and two adverbs.
Jason drives his new car carefully but often.


		1. Write a sentence using one adjective and one adverb. To create paragraphs in your essay response, type <p> at the beginning of the paragraph, and </p> at the end.

		2. Write a sentence using two adjectives and one adverb. To create paragraphs in your essay response, type <p> at the beginning of the paragraph, and </p> at the end.

		*Step 2:* Now, select the topic of one of the sentences you wrote in Step 1. Write a paragraph of at least five sentences about that topic. In your paragraph, use at least four adjectives, four adverbs, and the word well. After you finish, check to make sure all of your adjectives and adverbs are correct, and fix any that are not. 		*Step 3:* For each sentence below, select the statement that is correct. 1. The foolhardily fellow once counted out thirty-seven credit cards in front of me, all in his name. [Hint]

		2. For a long time, he handled his credit cards in the smart way; he paid for all his charges as soon as he got his credit card bill for them. [Hint]

		4. But then he was out of a job for several months, and that unexpected event put a stop to his credit card payments for a long while. [Hint]

		10. He hardly everly uses his one credit card now, and everyone calls him "Scrooge." [Hint]

		*Step 4:* Now that you have practiced recognizing adjectives and adverbs, write a paragraph of at least five sentences about money. You can write about what you like or dislike about money, how you manage it or would like to manage it, or what you would do if you had plenty of it. Use at least five of the following words in your writing: most, once, never, well, good, extremely, mean, use, better, four, quickly, happily. After you finish, make sure you wrote your adjectives and adverbs correctly. To create paragraphs in your essay response, type <p> at the beginning of the paragraph, and </p> at the end.
