Lab Activity 11: Using Specific Details
 
 
Objective: To use specific details to prove your point.

Step 2: Read each of the paragraphs below and answer the following questions.


     

     One of my favorite places to spend some free time is my neighborhood park. First of all, it is incredibly peaceful there. (1)_____. The children are generally confined to the playground area, so you can't really hear them crying or yelling. (2)_____. Also, the park is really clean and beautiful. Everyone uses the trash cans and recycling containers, (3)_____, so there is no litter in the park. (4)_____. The paths are made of redwood chips, which enhance the natural park setting. Finally, my neighborhood park is a very comfortable place to spend an hour or two. There are regular security patrols through the park, so you don't have to worry much about your personal safety. The benches are shaped just right so that the wood doesn't dig into your back. (5)_____. Everyone should have a place as nice as my neighborhood park in which to relax.
