      1. When Mary and George opened their first bakery, they had to make sure that they had a few staples

      2. They invested in a special machine so that they could swipe customers' credit cards instead of typing in account numbers manually.

      3. Every morning, Mary puts on an apron so that she won't stain her dress

      4. She always wears something with a colorful print, though, so that any accidental chocolate splatters won't show.

      5. Mary is the one everyone chats with as she sets out the day's freshly baked goods.

      6. Many people find George a little harder to talk to because he always seems cross

      7. He can be a tough boss, but most of the time he's really very sweet.

      8. His pastries are so light that you'd almost swear they could fly away.

      9. And his flourless chocolate cake is so dense you feel as if you're biting into a block of dark chocolate.

      10. Mary and George have a bright future in the bakery business.

      11. Unfortunately, their dog Cream Puff often gets in the way; she is just not very bright

      12. In fact, Cream Puff is absolutely dense

      13. For example, she once tried to swipe a cookie from the cooling rack.

      14. She might have gotten away with this except that she left a trail of her paw prints leading right to her bed.

      15. One Thanksgiving, while Mary was trying to dress the turkey, Cream Puff got into the kitchen twine and nearly choked herself.

      16. Just last week, Cream Puff actually got some staples caught in her nose when she was sniffing around George's desk.

      17. In her panic to get the staples out of her nose, Cream Puff accidentally knocked over Mary's antique tea set

      18. Now the dog is afraid to even cross the office doorway.

      19. But she's still as silly as ever; she'll actually chase around a ray of light from a flashlight.

      20. And she loves to chew on the tough sole of one of Mary's old slippers.
