Lab Activity 15: Subject-Verb Agreement
 
Objective: To practice making subjects and verbs agree with each other.

Step 3: For each of the sentences below, select the choice in which the subjects and verbs agree with each other. If the original sentence is correct, select "no change."


      1. The ollie is a jumping technique that allow the skateboarder to hop over obstacles and onto a curb or other surface. 



      2. When the skater do the ollie right, the skateboard seem to stick to the skater's feet in midair. 



      3. Many people believes that the skateboard is somehow attached to the skater's feet, but it is not. 



      4. The skater, with a sudden push down on the tail end of the board, gets the board to jump up. 



      5. The skater and board is actually bouncing off the ground, in reaction to the push on the board's tail. 



      6. The skater, who is now completely airborne with the board, slide his or her front foot forward on the board. 



      7. The skater begin to push his or her front foot down on the board, raising the rear wheels and leveling out the board. 



      8. As the tail of the board rises, up go the skater's rear leg to get it out of the way. 



      9. The skater must time this motion perfectly, so that neither the rear foot nor the rear of the board is separate; they must rise in perfect unison, seemingly "stuck" together. 



      10. With both feet touching the board, the skater and board are level and begin to fall together, making it look so easy that anyone are able to do it.
