Lab Activity 28: Apostrophes
 
Objective: To practice recognizing the correct use of apostrophes and using apostrophes correctly.

Step 3: For each of the word groups below, select the choice that uses apostrophes correctly. If the original word group is correct as it is, select "no change."


      1. Many of us have fantasized about being in the circus, but few of us know what its really like. 



      2. Even when your'e exhausted or in a bad mood, youl'l have to have a big smile on your face. 



      3. For example, it may not be so much fun to live in a trailer, especially if the tigers cage, with all of its odors, is right next to you.  



      4. The audiences satisfaction always has to come first, and thats seven days a week, including some holidays.  



      5. In the circus life, you finish performing, you pack up, and you move to a new town; who's to know where you're going to be next week? 



      6. However, for some, what counts are the circus lifes' advantages, such as the chance to travel a lot and to be loved by appreciative audiences. 



      7. In addition, circus people create close-knit communities, so theyll' welcome you and you wont' be lonely. 



      8. You shouldnt be surprised to see that several of the circus performers are married to each other, and that theyve brought along their kids. 



      9. The kids'es schooling usually comes from either their own parents or from a teacher the circus hires. 



      10. Often, a performer's child will eventually inherit the act, but you'd still have a chance to break in because circuses are always looking for talented new people.
