Avoiding Trite Expressions

A trite expression is one that has been so overused that it has become stale and dull. Avoid such expressions. Examples include raining cats and dogs and bright as the sun. Instead of relying on such tired phrases, be creative. Think of fresh and creative ways to express your meaning.
