Your audience, given they are smart, will be sensitive to any ambiguity or alternate way to read your work. Your audience, given they are ignorant to your brilliant insight, will need to be carefully guided through your original ideas. Your audience, given they are hostile, will resist your reasoning every step of the way and attempt to find every reason to reject your conclusion.
